The Homecare Association today welcomed the Social Care Foundation’s landmark report on the future of care, in which our CEO, Dr Jane Townson OBE, played an advisory role. The report lays out 35 ambitious and practical recommendations across funding, workforce, technology, integration with the NHS, commissioning and prevention.
While the proposals are clear, evidence-based and achievable, the Association warns that progress risks stalling unless the government and the Casey Commission act with urgency.
Dr Jane Townson OBE, Chief Executive of the Homecare Association, said:
“Social care is too important to be left in limbo. We have the solutions at our fingertips; what is missing is political courage. Every month of delay puts more people at risk of not receiving the support they need and adds pressure to families, the NHS and the wider economy.
"We urge the Casey Commission, the government and all political parties to take these recommendations seriously and start acting now. The time for review and rhetoric is over. We need leadership, funding and reform to build a care system worthy of the people it serves.”
