The Care Quality Commission’s latest update to regulated providers, which arrived in inboxes on 1 November, asks again for provider feedback on guidance describing evidence the regulator will use to assess individual quality statements for different types of providers. Survey: Guidance feedback: Evidence categories (typeform.com)

The update confirms information given previously that, from 21 November, CQC will start using the new single assessment framework in the South region, and between 21 November and 4 December undertake a small number of planned assessments with 14 early adopter providers, while continuing to respond to risk.

CQC then intends to expand its new assessment approach to all providers based on a risk-informed schedule.

CQC say they will share more information with providers in the South separately and contact providers in other areas to confirm when they will start using the new approach shortly.

Book a place at the Homecare Association's new and updated CQC workshop on 10 January 2024, which will give an insight into the Fundamental standards and changes in regulation, with the implementation of the new single assessment framework. Our November 2023 workshop is now full.
