In its latest email update (16 April 2024), CQC describes the temporary process it has put in place to help providers who urgently need to complete registration actions and who are unable to use the regulator’s provider portal.

This covers how to submit a registration application without using the provider portal, request a paper-based application if unable to register via the Portal and the evidence CQC requires to start a service urgently.

CQC says ‘urgent’ means:

  • A new Provider registration needs to be operational within the next three months
  • It is linked to a Sale and Transfer that is imminent
  • increasing capacity in the health and social care system.

The regulator again thanks providers for their patience as it resolves technical issues and says it will be in touch via email when the required improvements have been made.
