We recognise the true value of homecare for all of us in our society. We work to ensure homecare receives the recognition and investment it deserves.
To do this, we represent homecare at every level of government, with regulators and the media, as well as lead prominent campaigns to raise the profile of homecare.
Successes achieved for homecare during the last year include:
Revocation of the Vaccination as a Condition of Deployment regulations which could have led to a loss of 10% of the homecare workforce
Careworkers added to Shortage Occupation List
free PPE extended to March 2023
Calls for action on workforce led to a Workforce Recruitment and Retention Fund worth £162.5 million and the Made with Care recruitment campaign
£60m Omicron Support Fund to help with winter pressures at the start of the Omicron wave
Increase in fee rates in Northern Ireland following the ‘15’ campaign
Live-in homecare added to revised Infection Prevention and Control Guidance
Government beginning to recognise issues with low fee rates. Councils are engaging with providers about the real cost of care delivery through Fair Cost of Care exercises
