COVID-19 vaccination - pregnancy, allergies and flu vaccines

Some further information has been released on the COVID-19 vaccine:

• Advice confirming that while evidence reviewed so far raises no concerns for the safety of the vaccine in pregnancy, the MHRA wants to see more non-clinical data before finalising the advice for being vaccinated when pregnant.
• Information on the Pfeizer vaccine has been updated and guidance has been issued on managing allergic reactions to the vaccine: "Any person with a history of immediate-onset anaphylaxis to a vaccine, medicine or food should not receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. A second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine should not be given to those who have experienced anaphylaxis to the first dose of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccination."
• The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee have also advised that the possibility of getting a COVID-19 vaccine should not stop people from getting a flu vaccine at the earliest opportunity (if they are not already vaccinated).
