£30m additional funding in final Budget in Wales
The Welsh Government Final Budget has included a further £30m for social care. While welcome, this funding is specifically ring-fenced to support hospital discharge.
We are significantly concerned that the Welsh Budget has not accounted for the increased employers' National Insurance Costs that social care providers will be facing. This leaves a significant funding deficit, impeding local authorities' abilities to match the cost of care delivery and placing further pressure on providers to deliver at unsustainably low costs.
