The Home Team was founded in Norfolk by Peter Shaw, who witnessed less than satisfactory care received by a number of his relatives, with late calls, rushed visits and unfamiliar faces. He believed that there was a better way, focusing on the quality of care, fairer remuneration, a genuine team approach and local recruitment to minimise travel between clients. The result is The Home Team.

At The Home Team we believe in teams, because teams give our clients consistency and continuity and our carers the support and team spirit that is so important for a motivated workforce. For each client we put together a small team, each of whom you will come to know as part of your 'home team'. Our aim is for there always to be a familiar face.

We believe in giving our clients and carers sufficient time and space to ensure that the services we provide are done well, safely, comfortably and are never rushed. For this reason we set a minimum of one hour for each visit.

Our care management system is designed to build in sufficient travel time between each client visit, so there is no need to cut a visit short in order to get to the next one.

The Home Team recruits carers who are genuinely caring, patient, kind and reliable. We train to the highest standards of professional care, focusing on quality, safety and respect. Importantly, we pay our carers significantly more than the average, being the only home care company in Norfolk to pay full-rate travel time plus 45p per mile when traveling between clients.

Overall, our focus is to provide a consistently outstanding level of service, to the exacting standards of our regulator, the Care Quality Commission.
