SCIE have issued an update on the Accelerating Reform Fund.  Every ICS area has had local authority consortia register their interest for the Accelerating Reform Fund’s (ARF) opportunity to scale up innovation in social care, and kickstart a change in services to support unpaid carers.

The Accelerating Reform Fund will focus on embedding and scaling approaches to transform care and support including for unpaid carers. Local authorities have registered their interest with the DHSC, in partnership with others, in their integrated care systems, to fund local innovation projects. Local authorities are expected to work collaboratively with others such as the NHS, care providers, voluntary and community sector groups, including unpaid carers. The next steps are:

• Final funding amounts confirmed: 9 February 2024
• Memorandums of Understanding agreed and signed: 16 February 2024.

DHSC will be in touch with the lead local authority of each consortium to update on next steps shortly. From end February, SCIE will contact all consortia to help with tools to develop project plans, including providing support and guidance on co-production.
