CQC is asking for views on draft guidance intended to help providers understand and meet the new standard on visiting and accompanying in care homes, hospitals, and hospices. This also sets out what people using health and social care services and their families, friends or advocates can expect.
This consultation covers guidance about the new fundamental standard on visiting, rather than the legislation itself, which was the subject of a separate DHSC consultation.
The consultation closes at midday on 20 February 2024.
The draft guidance may affect homecare providers who provide staff to assist people with visiting in the settings described.
