Publication of National Care Service Bill in Scotland
A bill about the creation of a National Care Service (NCS) has been published by the Scottish Government.
As well as ensuring that Ministers are held accountable for adult social care, the Bill ensures co-design of the NCS with people who have experienced care services.
The objectives include to:
- "Support people in their own homes or among family, friends and community wherever possible, with seamless transitions between services."
- "Create a charter of rights and responsibilities for social care, with a robust complaints and redress process."
- "Ensure fair employment practices and national pay bargaining for the social care workforce."
