Professional Records Standards Body (PRSB) has published two standards to help ensure the right information flows between services and from medical devices and tools to the professionals that need it, to support better care and outcomes for people with diabetes. These are:
- The Diabetes Information Record Standard which defines the information needed to support a person’s diabetes management.
- The Diabetes Self-Management Standard which defines information that could be recorded by the person or their carer at home and shared with health and care professionals.
The PRSB are a not-for-profit community interest company that works to define what information needs to be recorded and shared for good care. They were commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement to produce the standards, which were the subject of an engagement process last year.
