National data opt-out deadline extended to March 2022

Under the national data opt-out people who use publicly-funded health and/or care services in England can prevent health and care organisations from sharing their confidential patient information with other organisations, if it is not about managing or delivering their care.  For example, if the data is shared for research or planning purposes.  People now have until 31 March 2022 to opt-out.

Digital Social Care have written an article about the opt-out, and implications for adult social care providers.
