Joint guidance urges inclusion of social care providers in ICPs
New joint guidance has been issued from DHSC, the LGA, NHS England that was developed in partnership with the Care Provider Alliance (which the Homecare Association is part of).
The guidance urges Integrated Care Systems to ensure that Adult Social Care providers are represented in Integrated Care Partnerships. It suggests that this could be through the development of Adult Social Care Provider Forums, as well as the establishment of links to local Care Associations. It notes that ICSs can consider encouraging, supporting, and where appropriate, resourcing providers to build sustainable networks and relationship.
This guidance is welcome, given our previous work on Integrated Care Systems and may be a useful reference point for providers engaging with ICSs at a local level.
